Le Traiteur Restaurant Jeddah (French Food)
“Le Traiteur”, which means Caterer in English, represents the origins of today’s restaurant in French history. “Le Traiteur” has existed since the middle ages, when the ancestors of the butcher sold the cooked meat in their shop. In the 15th century, it has consistently enjoyed a reputation as the epitome of fine French dining in Europe.Than around 1665, a man called “Boulanger” opened the first restaurant named “Saint-Honoré” that quickly became the first “Le Traiteur” since he sold take-away food. In the late eighteenth century, diners who wished to “dine out” would visit their local guild member’s kitchen and have their meal prepared for them.To stay away from the political community, the family “Le Traiteur” opened a new restaurant where they served “clientele” in house, but also have them delivered at home. “Le Traiteur” was begun to make itself known.
