Green Jeddah is Saudi Arabia’s first youth-led eco-friendly initiative. With nothing short of strong will and a passion for the environment of the city they live in, students from all over Jeddah, got together and devoted themselves to kicking off the green movement within the city of Jeddah. The promotion of recycling and other green practices all in the name of sustainable living within the region are the core objectives of Green Jeddah.
Green Jeddah was one of six social enterprises established through the US-Saudi Women’s Forum on Social Entrepreneurship. The forum was designed to enhance skills of young women in the area of social entrepreneurship, which would not only enrich their lives but would also help their communities through the application of business and leadership skills to social needs. Green Jeddah ended up winning 1st place at the forum and has been furthering their initiative ever since.
