Eid ul Fitr in Jeddah – 19th of August
The festival of Eid ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia is widely popular. The Muslims are found celebrating the festival of Eid ul-Fitr just after the month of Ramadan ends. During the period of Ramadan,
the holy Quran is read and prayers offered at the mosque. The people fast the whole day till dawn. At the end of the Ramadan period, people see the moon, which marks the beginning of Eid ul-Fitr. This festival is celebrated for 3 days by all Muslim communities.
Eid ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia is celebrated with great pomp and show. In the first morning of the festival, the people gather at the mosques from all corners of the world. They face towards Mecca, which is the holy city of the Muslims. There they offer prayers showing their gratefulness to their lord Allah. The people decorate their houses, visit their relatives and friends with sweets and gifts, exchange cards, wear new clothes and have a grand meal with their near and dear ones.
Eid ul-Fitr is a festival where the Muslims spread the feelings of love and peace, forgetting their old problems and grudges with one another.
